The irresistible sweetness of pineapple cakes

Cakes with seasonal fruits are some of the best cakes because of the distinct flavor they can come in. Pineapple cakes are popular all over the world because they are made with pineapple, a much loved fruit with a very delicious taste of its own. The blend of whipped cream, raw pineapples and pineapple syrup make for an unforgettable taste and hence the spread of pineapple cakes has been global for many years now. Pineapple cakes are available largely in bakeries and confectionaries because of how popular they are and how the sweet taste with pieces of pineapple has mesmerized generations.
Baking a pineapple cake is not much of a tough task, though it takes up a bit of concentration to prepare the batter as that is the treasure trove of the taste of a pineapple cake. The preheated oven ought to be laden with buttered grease before the pineapple slices are arranged side by side. It is important to cut the pineapples into round slices, so that there is a proper layer of each slice in the cake. Cherries are also used but that might make the cake a bit too sweet so it is advised that one uses cherries as per one’s sweet tooth.
Pineapple juice is also put in the batter before the baking begins, so there is indeed a lot of pineapple in a pineapple cake. Confectionaries and bakeries nowadays have begun using small pieces of pineapples as toppings on the cake or decorate the cake with a whole slice of a pineapple to make it look fitting to its name. Pineapple cake slices are also sold singly, as small pieces often have a bigger impact on the taste buds. Since it comes with whipped cream and proper pineapple taste, there is no reason for not indulging in its guilty pleasure.
Like other cakes, there are several varieties of pineapple cakes which are doing the confectionary and bakery rounds. The pineapple cakes is a very well known cake baked in a single pan and then turned over, only to be served upside down. A topping of butter, sugar and chopped pineapples is put on top though pineapple slices and pineapple syrup is not put in the batter. The upside down cake is perfect for all those who are looking for a pineapple cake but not something with an overdose of pineapples but with a mild flavor of the fruit.
Other variations of the pineapple cake include the pineapple cheese cake which is prepared with pineapple juice in the batter and served with a thick cheese layer on top. There is also another variety called pineapple coffee cake which is without any cream and is a much drier version of the cake. It is generally garnished with almonds and served along with coffee in cafeterias. The cake tastes the best when it is on the burnt side and hence is a perfect accompaniment for coffee as one can easily gobble up to three or four pieces for its dry and fine fruity taste.
